The White Privilege

As I read the article White Privilege and Male Privilege by Mclntosh I had to agree that many white women do not recognize their overprivileged life compared to other women. White women tend to be a bit more accepted to society then women from other races. White women do not have to try twice as hard as a latino women would have to find and be hired for a high and important job. Women may uncinciously use these advantages with out even knowing it. As I read through the example she gave pertaining to her personal experience as a white privileged woman their was one that caught my attention. Number 13 "Whether I use cheaks, Credit cards, or cash, I can count on my skin color not to work against the appearance that I am financially reliable". Being a young latino women I have had experiences were ive wanted to pay with my credit card and the employees have asked me if I had cash incase my card did not go through. If a regular white woman was in this position they would have not been asked this question. I pesonally have seen the privilaged white women tend to have in the US. This is the reason to why I agree with Mclntosh's article.
